Hands-On Genetic Engineering For The Classroom

Justin Pahara is a cell biologist and Julie Lagualt is a designer. They have collaborated on a new book, “Zero to Genetic Engineering Hero” that is a “beginner’s guide to programming bacteria at home, school and in the makerspace.” In this conversation, the talk about how the tools and processes of genetic engineering can be introduced to students in the classroom.

Julie holds a Master of Science from the M.I.T. Media Lab (USA), a Master of Arts from the Royal College of Art (UK), and degrees in Design, Technology and Arts from Concordia University (Canada).
