What You'll Do:
Wouldn’t it be amazing to get together with friends and family to play a fun competitive board game — and that game is based on YOU!? You are the star of the game and everyone playing gets to learn new things they never knew about you!
Or maybe not a board game about you personally, but perhaps a game starring one of your kids…or a parent…a BFF….a grandparent – anyone! Welcome to the creative world of Luanga Nuwame’s ‘Game of YOU!‘
The Game of YOU! is a fully customized board game experience that can be made about any person. The featured individual is the bonified star of the game. Forget about monopolies and battleships, or hungry mammals and settlers – the person in the room is who everyone is battling to know on a deeper level. All movements, game cards, competitions and interactions are based on that special person. No dice are needed – the game is self-contained! There is simply no other game like this out there and through this course, you will learn all the steps to make a truly fun and interactive 3D game experience.
A game like this is more than just an ‘ego trip’ for the featured individual. Do you have a child with low self-esteem and is struggling to see how awesome he/she really is? This game can be that cathartic step towards deeper personal growth! Do you have a grandparent who has done amazing things the rest of the family should know about? This game is that tribute worthy of the greatest generation and will ensure future generations know of grandpa’s/grandma’s legacy! Looking for the most unique personal birthday present for a friend or co-worker? Look no further! Heck – do you really love yourself and would like to have a game about your awesomeness? Let’s make it happen!
The best thing about this course is that you will be provided ALL the templates you need to make the game. By the end of the course, you will have a completed ready-to-play board game that can be customized to your specific tastes. You want to use different color combinations than what instructor Luanga Nuwame uses – no problem! You want to change the order of the playing spaces – go ahead and you’ll be shown how! Want to make up new spaces – you will be instructed on how to do that! The whole point is to make a game that is yours to enjoy to the fullest!

About your Facilitator:Luanga 'Lue' Nuwame - aka me - is no stranger when it comes to creating game and entertainment products. Since the age of 20, I've been inventing multiple games as a hobby. I was a previous member of the Canadian Toy Association and participated in numerous major toy and game industry trade shows in the early 2000s through my previous company Azique Toys Ltd. My handmade card games The Last Word and Jabber were sold in independent toy stores in Ontario, Canada during the late 1990s to the early 2000s. Although I left the toy industry to concentrate on self-publishing independent comic books, my passion for making board and card games never waned. In 2008 I started the 'Homemade Game Guru' YouTube channel and demonstrated how to make concepts like a board game for a $1 (165,000+ views), handmade trading card games (140,000+ views) and a world record achieving giant board game made out of wood. In 2014 I launched my first successful crowdfunded 3D board game called Superpowerful Bonanza. My card game Paper Rock Scissors N' Stuff was adapted into a comic book series and is currently being made into an app video game and cartoon series pitch. As recently as 2020, Reader's Digest, Inhabitat Magazine and various news media covered the release of a modular board game I made that filled an entire house. My Customized Family Tree Board Game course on Udemy.com is still one of the highest ranked courses on their site. Making games is a hobby I love and this course is an extension of that passion.
My name is Luanga Lue Nuwame and I’m a comic book writer and publisher, YouTuber, and cardboard craft artist residing in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada. I’m best known as the Homemade Game Guru on YouTube. This is my crafting channel specializing in handmade DIY projects, geek crafts, comic books, and oddities related to cardboard innovation. The channel has received over 7 million unique views from around the world and since the channel’s creation in 2008, it has been featured in The Mississauga News, Reader’s Digest, Global News, CTV News, The Toronto Star, Make Magazine, Inhabitat Magazine, The New York Post, Global Innovation Magazine and numerous other media websites and publications. In 2015, I published a DIY craft manual called The Cardboard Bible which was a former Amazon Canada top selling paper crafts entry.
In 2008, I won a Majorfun.com award for making innovative fun online craft tutorials for kids and in June 2021, I was a finalist for the City of Mississauga’s MARTYS Awards (the highest honor for the city’s artists). In 2009, I obtained a World’s Record Academy world’s record for creating the largest handmade board game, which was based on my home city of Mississauga. In 2020, I teamed up with various comic book artists in Canada and the United States to create a fundraising 3D ‘Superheroes VS COVID-19‘ cardboard poster to raise money for the Mississauga Food Bank.
Currently, I’m launching the world’s first line of cardboard articulated magnetic action figurines based on indie comic book superheroes and I self-publish comic books through my company Zelpha Comics and Collectibles. I have a bunch of published books on Amazon, a genealogy board game course, horror products, and other creative pursuits, but I think you already see that creativity is my life. I live to make stuff!
