What inspired you or what is the idea that got you started?

I am only getting older and I need a boat that is light enough for a 70 year old to carry. Moving a boat from car top will be a huge task for the senior citizen, therefore a boat that can be packed and carried inside the trunk of the car is ideal.
Younger kids don't have much to spend and building a coroplast boat doesn't require a lot of expensive tools. The materials to build such boats are readily available at Home Depot/Lowes. It takes a weekend (14-6 hours) to build this kind of boat. Actually, it will take more time to round up all the materials than actually building a boat.

What is your project about and how does it work?

This video gives you a quick rundown of what the project is and how it works.

What did you learn by doing this project?

A boat that can be built in 14 hours. It included a lot of learning from my earlier designs (this is my Gen 19 design).

What impact does your project have on others as well as yourself?

I am showing people how to build such boat for less than $150. A similar commercial boat (for two people) will cost over $1000.00
This will be a very good introduction to teenagers who want to build a boat.
