Q: How do I access my membership account?
A: When you first signed up, we sent you a Welcome to Make: Membership email with your login information. Sometimes these messages go to spam. Please check your spam/junk folders and be sure to whitelist email@example.com. If you still can’t find the welcome email, email us at: firstname.lastname@example.org.
Q: How do I access the Make: Digital Library to find articles from Make: magazine back issues?
A: Every issue of Make:, including the current issue, is available in the Make: Digital Library. The Digital Library is available to both Hands On and Mastery level members and can be accessed by going to make.co and logging in with your membership login and password. Click the Make: Digital Library link on the black bar underneath the red Make: logo. If you’re a Basic level member and you’d like to add access to the library, you can upgrade your account on the My Member Account page.
Q: How do I receive my Maker Shed one-time use per year discount?
A: A one-time use, 15% Maker Shed discount code will be emailed to Mastery level members. We will generate and email codes every Friday to new members. Please look for the message in your email. Once you have the code, go to Makershed.com, shop and insert the code on the checkout page. Please note, some Maker Shed items are net items and do not qualify for discounts. If you can’t find the email with your code, email us at: email@example.com.
Q: How do I receive my Maker Faire ticket discount?
A: Mastery-level members receive a 40% discount on a single adult/child, one-day ticket (you can purchase up to a maximum of 4 per year with an active Mastery membership). The discount can be used at any time including for Advance and Day Of purchases. The discount is not available on previous ticket purchases. We will generate and email codes every Friday to new members. Please look for the message in your email. If you can’t find the email with your code, email us at: firstname.lastname@example.org.
Q: I heard that there was online courseware and live streaming with paid membership?
A: We are testing courseware and live learning events now; they will be available by Q2-Q3 2018. Stay tuned, we’ll email you with updates.
Q: How do I add a print subscription?
A: Paid members can access Make: magazine print subscription discounts. You will receive an email with a link to special member pricing.
Q: How do I upgrade a membership?
A: On the Make.co homepage, click on the tier that you want to upgrade to. You can upgrade from Basic and Hands On level memberships. You can not upgrade from Mastery level memberships.
You will charged the price difference, minus the time you’ve already spent on your lower level membership. This means that your final upgrade cost could be more than simply the price difference between the two memberships. For example: if I’ve spent a week as a Hands On member and wanted to upgrade to Mastery, I’ll be charged the price difference between the two memberships as well as the time I’ve already spent as a Hands On member. We want you to be able to enjoy a full year’s worth of perks at the upgraded membership level so we’ll need to effectively restart the clock.
Q: Is my membership tax deductible?
A: No, Make: is not a 501(c)(3) so memberships do not qualify for federal or state tax deductions.
Q: I saw an “Inspirational” level membership at Maker Faire. I don’t see it on Make.co. How do I sign up for that?
A: Inspirational level memberships are essentially Make: print magazine subscriptions. They are available here. These subscriptions will be managed separately by our magazine fulfilment department and will not show up as a membership in your Make.co account.
