What inspired you or what is the idea that got you started?

I was looking for a filament extrusion system to produce my own brand of 3d printing filament. Yet I could not find anything on the market which I can afford and manufacture a good quality of filament. That gave me the idea to built my own line. Thanks to huge facebook community that made possible to grow it further than I imagined so I solely focused on building the polystruder extrusion system nowadays.

What is your project about and how does it work?

Polystruder is a 3d printer filament extrusion system for 3d printers that allows users to manufacture their own filament that is suitable to use in almost all environment from homes, offices and industrial spaces. It allows users to create their own filament recipes so they are not limited on what is available on market. It also allows to recycle used or failed prints back to the 3d printing filament again. It is very easy to operate yet might require some effort to master.

What did you learn by doing this project?

It takes some effort to learn something and filament extrusion is no exception. After tons of failures and mistakes now I know how to extrude a proper 3d printing filament by following a set of rules that work which I created after tons of trials. I do also plan to include a comprehensive guide about how to extrude a 3d printing filament with using a polystruder system for users.

What impact does your project have on others as well as yourself?

I believe it will open a lot of doors to what was pretty much limited about 3d printing plastic recycling. Since there are still very limited and expensive options with very little useful guide out there. Polystruder is born to fill those gaps in the market.
