Jasmine Florentine is an author-illustrator, freelance mechanical design engineer, and STEM content creator. She received an MS and a BS from MIT in mechanical engineering, where she focused on product design.
Carlotta Berry is a professor and Dr. Lawrence J. Giacoletto Endowed Chair for Electrical and Computer Engineering at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology (RHIT). She is one of a team of faculty who created the first multidisciplinary minor in robotics.

Dr. Peppler is a professor of Informatics & Education at University of California, Irvine who engages in research that focuses on the intersection of arts, computational technologies and interest-driven learning. She holds a Ph.D. in Urban Schooling from UCLA, where she was part of the NSF-sponsored team that designed and studied the Scratch platform, which garnered her a Dissertation Research Award from the Spencer Foundation. Upon joining the UC Irvine faculty in 2018, Dr. Peppler brought her research group, the Creativity Labs, to be a part of UCI’s Connected Learning Lab, where she brings together educators, designers, artists, and learning theorists interested in supporting learning by leveraging youths' interests in digital culture, design, and making.
Lauren graduated Master's degree from the Tandon School of Engineering at NY University and an undergraduate degree in Computer Science and Mathematics from University of Colorado. She is the Founder and Director of a makerspace at an all-girls high school in New York City.
Noga Elhassid is an artist and a teacher based in Israel. Her work teaches mechanical principles through play. Her focus is demonstrating scientific principles through simple means using playful teaching strategies.
Born and raised in Los Angeles, Clara Ngo attended UCSB and graduated with a BA in Math, a B.A. in Business Economics, and a Masters in Education. She taught in international schools in Vietnam for 7 years, as a math and design teacher for 6th-12th grades.
Director of Innovation at Franklin School, Jersey City. Adjunct professor at Teachers College in Creative Technologies, and co-author of Make: Easy Electronics Projects for Parents and Kids. An NYU-ITP Alum, and named “Teacher of the Future” by the National Association of Independent Schools.
Paula Frisch is a visual artist, educator and lifelong maker. She is Assistant Director of Dazzling Discoveries STEM Education Center and a co-creator of their Engineering with Paper initiative. Paula holds an MFA from Social Practice Queens CUNY and is pursuing an MA in Developmental Psychology at Teachers College Columbia University.
Dr. Matthew Wettergreen is Director of the Global Medical Innovation Master of Bioengineering and Associate Teaching Professor at the award-winning Oshman Engineering Design Kitchen (ODEK) at Rice University.
Cecilia Hillway (aka Cecilia Olivera-Hillway) has worked in education for 15 years. Some positions she’s held include Makerspace Associate and Educational Technology Specialist. She teaches technology classes for after-school and summer camp programs.
Jinger Zeng is a tech entrepreneur and cultural explorer. She is currently the contest manager at Hackster.io, an international online community for engineers and invocators. She is a global community and ecosystem builder, and evangelist for open-source technology and open science.
Dalal Elsheikh is a Vehicle Experience Designer, Futurist, and a Judge on Hot Wheels Ultimate Challenge on NBC. She’s currently a designer for Mercedes Benz Research and Development North America, having previously been at The Ford Motor Company developing their autonomous vehicle program. Dalal is an alumni of ArtCenter College of Design, as well as New Jersey Institute of Technology. She is a space flight and automotive enthusiast, and first generation American, holding space for girls and women of color in male dominated fields.
Ten years ago, Rich led a prosthetics projects with a group of 8th graders in which they made a device for his son Max. Since that project, he has been on a quest to help teachers bring authentic project based learning to their classrooms and makerspaces. Currently Rich is the Director of Academic Innovation and Design at the Alexander Dawson School in Las Vegas.
President of Dauphin Americas, Matthew has over a decade experience in the furniture industry, with expertise in product design, engineering, sales, marketing, and executive leadership. He has been the President of Dauphin Americas for the past three years and remains the youngest President of a contract furniture company. Matthew continues to be involved with industry associations such as CoreNet, IIDA, and IFMA, and last year he was awarded the CoreNet Young Leader Award for New Jersey. Outside of the contract furniture market, Matthew is an Adjunct Professor of Industrial Design for Kean and previously at NJIT
Jose Alcala is a licensed Architect, Industrial Designer, Renewable Energy Specialist and Educator. He has held teaching positions at the University of Arkansas, Pratt Institute and currently New Jersey Institute of Technology as University Lecturer, Coordinator and founder of the Industrial Design Department.
Danny Sosa serves the NJIT Makerspace in the role of Fabrication and Manufacturing Specialist. Served by a background in Industrial Design and work experience with durable medical goods and housewares, he also works as a freelance product designer and adjunct with the Newark College of Engineering at NJIT.
